Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu

Airport welcome, transfer to hotel. Permit processing and trip briefing.

Kathmandu Sacred Sites

Kathmandu

Visit Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath for blessings before the yatra.

Kathmandu to Nepalgunj

Nepalgunj

Domestic flight to Nepalgunj in western Nepal. Final permit and gear check.

Helicopter to Simikot

Simikot

Helicopter flight to Simikot (2,910m), the starting base of the Kailash yatra route.

Simikot to Hilsa (Nepal–Tibet Border)

Taklakot

Helicopter to Hilsa at the Nepal-Tibet border. Cross into Tibet and drive to Taklakot (Purang).

Taklakot to Mansarovar Lake

Mansarovar

Drive to the sacred Mansarovar Lake (4,550m). Holy dip, prayers, and spiritual rituals at the lake shore.

Mansarovar Rituals & Drive to Darchen

Darchen

Morning prayers and circumambulation of Mansarovar Lake. Drive to Darchen, base for Mt. Kailash Parikrama.

Parikrama Day 1 — Darchen to Diraphuk

Diraphuk

Begin the sacred 52km Kailash circumambulation. Trek to Diraphuk (4,890m) with the north face of Kailash in full view.

Parikrama Day 2 — Cross Dolma La Pass

Zuthulphuk

The most challenging and spiritual day. Cross Dolma La Pass (5,600m), the highest point, then descend to Zuthulphuk.

Parikrama Day 3 — Complete Circumambulation

Darchen

Complete the Parikrama returning to Darchen. Celebration of the completion of the holy circuit.

Return to Hilsa

Hilsa

Drive back through the Tibetan plateau to Hilsa border crossing.

Helicopter to Simikot & Nepalgunj

Nepalgunj

Return helicopter flights to Simikot then Nepalgunj.

Nepalgunj to Kathmandu

Kathmandu

Morning flight back to Kathmandu. Celebration dinner and rest.

Departure

Private transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport. Sacred journey ends.

Nepal visa on arrival: 30 Days ($50). Tibet permit and Chinese Group Visa included in package. Booking requires $500 deposit; $1,000 due 30 days before departure; balance in cash on arrival.
