Day-by-Day Itinerary

Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome arrival, transfer to hotel, trip orientation and permit processing.

Kathmandu Sacred Temples

Kathmandu

Visit Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath for blessings before the yatra.

Drive to Kerung Border

Kerung

Scenic mountain drive from Kathmandu to Kerung (Gyirong) Nepal–Tibet border crossing.

Cross into Tibet — Saga

Saga

Border crossing into Tibet. Drive through spectacular high-altitude Tibetan plateau to Saga.

Saga to Mansarovar Lake

Mansarovar

Long drive across the plateau to the sacred Mansarovar Lake (4,550m). Evening prayers at the lake shore.

Mansarovar Rituals

Mansarovar

Full day at Mansarovar Lake — holy bath, circumambulation of the lake, and sacred pujas.

Mansarovar to Darchen

Darchen

Drive to Darchen, the base town for the Kailash Parikrama. Rest and preparation.

Parikrama Day 1 — Darchen to Diraphuk

Diraphuk

Begin the sacred Kailash Parikrama. Trek through the Lha Chu valley to Diraphuk Monastery (4,890m).

Parikrama Day 2 — Cross Dolma La Pass

Zuthulphuk

Most sacred day — cross the Dolma La Pass (5,600m). Descend to Zuthulphuk Monastery.

Parikrama Day 3 — Complete the Circuit

Darchen

Final stretch back to Darchen completing the 52km circumambulation. Sacred ritual completion ceremony.

Darchen to Shigatse

Shigatse

Drive east through the plateau to Shigatse, Tibet's second largest city.

Tashilhunpo Monastery & Gyantse

Gyantse

Visit Tashilhunpo Monastery and the medieval Gyantse fortress before continuing toward Lhasa.

Yamdrok Lake & Lhasa

Lhasa

Scenic drive past the sacred Yamdrok Lake and Karola Glacier, arriving in Lhasa.

Lhasa Sightseeing

Lhasa

Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, and Sera Monastery monk debates.

Lhasa to Kathmandu

Kathmandu

Trans-Himalayan flight back to Kathmandu. Rest and celebration dinner.

Kathmandu Free Day

Kathmandu

Free day for shopping in Thamel or optional sightseeing. Farewell dinner.

Departure

Transfer to the airport for your onward journey. Sacred yatra ends.
